As the concept and importance of industrial Internet are gradually recognized by the industry, all kinds of industrial entities in the world have launched their layout in the aspects of industrial Internet technology research and development, platform establishment and system optimization. China, as an important part of the world economy, has made technological breakthroughs in 5G, big data, The Internet of Things, cloud computing, industrial Internet and other technologies and explored their application and promotion.
In August 2016, China Industrial Internet Industry Alliance released “Industrial Internet Architecture 1.0”, proposing three major systems of industrial Internet network, data and security. Under the guidance of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the Industrial Internet Industry Alliance (IDU), together with its members, has formulated the Industrial Internet Architecture (VERSION 2.0) (hereinafter referred to as “Architecture 2.0”) on the basis of the Industrial Internet Architecture (version 1.0) released in 2016.
It can be seen from the Industrial Internet Standard System (Version 2.0) that the industrial Internet builds the three functional systems of network, platform and security systematically to build a new network infrastructure with comprehensive interconnection among people, machines and things, and to form an emerging business form and application mode of intelligent development. And this new idea puts forward, undoubted with current course of industry development is consistent.
The change from 1.0 to 2.0, to some extent, reflects the increasingly improved architecture of industrial Internet system and the increasingly clear development direction of industrial Internet industry. Architecture 2.0 redefines the reference architecture of the industrial Internet from the perspectives of business, function and implementation, especially highlighting the core driving role of data intelligent optimization closed-loop. In October 2019, architecture 2.0 was released in the alliance, which was widely adopted and applied by the industry and strongly promoted the industrial practice and innovative development of the industrial Internet.
The emergence of Architecture 2.0 provides guidance and reference for governments, enterprises, investors, scientific research institutions and other parties. For some manufacturing enterprises, it has become a necessary option to continuously improve their technology, product and service capabilities and incorporate the industrial Internet into their core business system.
In the construction of the industrial smart park, the data flow closed-loop within the park, within the park and outside the park is constructed by building three systems of industrial Internet network, platform and security, so as to form a collaborative organic ecology among the roles of the park, between the park and the park, and between the park and the government, industry, academia, research and application industries. Enterprises in the park can also achieve the purpose of resource sharing and business cooperation through linkage cooperation.
The end-result of extensive application of industrial Internet can be basically attributed to the realization of comprehensive depth perception of industrial data, real-time transmission and exchange, rapid computational processing and advanced modeling and analysis, so as to complete the transformation of intelligent control, operation optimization and production organization mode. In the past two years, the development of China’s industrial Internet has stepped into the stage of large-scale popularization from concept popularization and technology verification, and the application practice and innovation exploration in key industries are deepening continuously.
Up to now, more than 20 provinces and cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Hubei, Guangdong, Jiangsu and Chongqing, have issued industrial Internet industry development policies, taking the construction of signage analysis system as an important starting point for accelerating digital transformation. At the same time, many supporting funds have been put in place. For example, Guiyang plans to invest a total of no less than 50 million yuan in special funds within three years to encourage and support manufacturing enterprises to carry out sign-based intelligent transformation.
In addition, against the backdrop of surging new technologies such as 5G, blockchain, artificial intelligence and edge computing, the demand for the further implementation of industrial Internet is increasingly strong, and industrial development has reached an inflection point of convergence. Based on this, the possibility of the integration of industrial Internet and various technologies increases, and the existing industrial Internet system has become the mainstream trend to accelerate the improvement and perfection.
According to industry insiders, the economic added value of China’s industrial Internet industry is expected to reach 3.1 trillion yuan in 2020, accounting for 2.9% of GDP and contributing more than 11% to GDP growth. Of this, the added value of core industries will reach 652 billion yuan, and the economic added value driven by integration will reach 2.49 trillion yuan.
2020 is a new starting point for the development of the industrial Internet industry. The official release of industrial Internet Architecture 2.0 has undoubtedly made a good start for the construction of industrial Internet this year. Next, the industry needs to work together to promote the development of the industrial Internet industry to achieve new performance.
